He has presented many concerts of his music at New York venues including Roulette Intermedium and The Stone. His 11-piece ensemble String Power released its debut album in 2015.\u00a0 Tom recorded and toured Europe in the group Kef, with bassist Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz and guitarist Aram Bajakian. His musical theater piece, Bad Actor, was performed at The Tank (NYC) in 2017.\u00a0 <span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.2px;\">He played on the song \u201cWindow,\u201d by Guster, his classmates at Tufts University. He has a Ph.D. (2002) in composition from U. C. Berkeley where his principle teacher was Olly Wilson.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-11bda55 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"11bda55\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-no\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-d8efd9e\" data-id=\"d8efd9e\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c1fa948 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c1fa948\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><p class=\"p1\">During the summers from 2012-2019 Tom performed on violin and piano at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park. From 2008 to 2020, Tom played his violin daily on subway platforms and other locations in New York City. He joined Music Under New York, the MTA&#8217;s official program for performers, in 2009.\u00a0 Tom had many wonderful experiences while busking. He even met his wife <a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-york\/brooklyn\/most-romantic-subway-platform-brooklyn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Molly<\/span>\u00a0 w<\/a>hile playing on a subway platform!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>Tom currently teaches at Rhode Island College, Community Music Works, and The Providence School of Music.
